I have nearly a decade of experience in training players ranging from youth beginners to professionals. I have also worked with the youth in public education as a high school teacher and instructional specialist as well as the associate head basketball coach at multiple schools in the Houston area, including Stratford High School and Brenham High School. Throughout my career, I have attended numerous coaching and basketball clinics and worked several camps, honing my skills and knowledge in player development. I played high school basketball at Cy Ranch High School, where I was selected as a member of the Texas Academic All State Team. I went on to graduate Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology – Exercise Science. It is an honor to be able to use the game I love as a way to teach lessons on and off the court to help others pursue their dreams.

Jordan Pride
Trainer
I played high school basketball at Strake Jesuit where I was a multiple time All-District player, DPOY, and Houston Chronicle Athlete of the Week. I have a love for the game that carried me to the next level and allowed me to the next level and allowed me to be a collegiate basketball player as I pursued my bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. Now that my playing career is over, I share my passion and love for the game with players currently on their basketball journey. My goal as a trainer is to help them reach their full potential and develop into elite level hoopers with the mindset to match their goals.

Alex Omi
Intern
I have been part of the HBA family for several years as a player, but decided to join the HBA team as an intern to help grow the organization. I have previously played on an AAU team and have been playing basketball ever since middle school, but I treat it now more as a hobby that I can teach others. I currently attend Lone Star College where I plan on studying Accounting, but I love spending time at the HBA gym, where I help out all of the kids train their basketball skills. I usually help around the gym, assisting in sessions, recording video, and doing anything I can to help.

Josh Jones
Intern Sales & Marketing
I’m part of the sales team with HBA, where I enjoy connecting with people and building relationships through the game of basketball. As a lifelong sports enthusiast. I’ve always loved the energy of live events and the culture that surrounds them. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, trying different foods, and experience new places. For me, sports and exploring go hand in hand-both bring opportunities to connect, share experiences, and create lasting memories.

Elisabeth Roach
Administrative Assistant/Statistician
I’m a recent addition to the Houston Basketball Academy, as an administrative
role on the team. My ability to understand and organize numbers has helped the team in
all things data related. At HBA, I not only focus on the administrative side, but also logs
and charts stats for the players so they can improve their overall game. I’m currently a
junior majoring in Management Information Systems at Prairie View A&M University and
plan to become a sports data/scouting analyst.

Julius Marmelstein

I’ve been proud to be a part of the HBA family for many years, growing through the game both on and off the court. I have played basketball at the Briarwood school (7th-9th grade) and with HCYA (10th-12th), where I made All-American Second Team for homeschool players across the nation. Today, I’m continuing my journey by training at overseas basketball camps as I pursue a professional career in the sport I love. Beyond basketball, I’m also committed to service, currently earning my EMT and Firefighter certifications at Lone Star College. My goal is to inspire young athletes to chase their dreams with passion, discipline and purpose.
